An Old Flame Collides With A New Flame

by LiveMyLifeOnALullaby   Mar 31, 2008

When you learn about that one person
Who you have in your mind
Every hour, minute, second of the day
You realize it's not meant to be

How you feel about him
And how he feels about you
Just isn't the same
Things fall apart and you try to move on

Time passes by
And you believe you've lost touch
With those once strong feelings
And a new flame is ignited

Another person has come
And the feelings are alive again
You don't think about your past love
You think he's just an old flame died out

But what happens when an old flame collides with a new flame
You become confused about these mixed feelings
You don't know where to go
You don't know who means more

Whenever you are with one
You think of the other
Whenever one speaks
The words of the other rings in your ears

You begin to think
"Why did I ever fall for them both
Which one is truly love
It can't the both of them"

You heart starts to ache
How can two people bring so much pain
Even as you get older and wiser
The mystery of love will haunt you forever

Very good write. I liked the fact that you used no rhyme scheme. Most think that poetry has to rhyme, but this was most def a poem. You showed great emotion and the fact that you kept it simple and sweet made it even more wonderful. Overall, perfectly written
