Through The Eyes Of A Child

by beautifullyunstable   Apr 1, 2008

It's 4am, she's awake again, trying to block out the screams.
She's 6 years old, with more life experience then most.
She wipes away the tears and looks up at her screaming "It wasn't Daddy's fault", protecting the one person who hurt her the most.
She cowers as her grandma raises her hand and slaps her across the face.
Brought up hearing she's worthless and can't do anything right.
As she herself slowly starts to believe it.
Tumbling into a downward spiral.
Trying so hard to forget.
