Never the steady and unbroken heart

Trying to smile and feeling it fail
You cant see me bloodied and broken and frail
Push it aside, one more night's a waste;
An ounce of my weakness, a pound of disgrace.
Locked up inside me, that's just how things are;
An hour to write this, two seconds per scar.
And knowing and feeling i still fall apart
Never the steady and unbroken heart.
