Oh, To See You In English Class (Sends My Mind Into a Frenzy!)

To see you in Honors English II
Sent my heart racing, my palms sweating
I thought you were the most beautiful girl
With your long brown hair and your pretty green eyes.

I'd watch you and when you'd catch me
My face would flame up
I never thought you'd even notice me.
You'd look away, swinging your hair over your shoulder
And bat your eyelashes at the guy next to you.

Then, however, you started staring back at me
With some intensity I had never seen you give
The guy sitting near you; did you like me back?
I prayed that the answer was yes!

I'd watch you and think, "Wow, she's wonderful...
Could she ever be mine? Maybe, but I doubt it."
All it took was one little look from you
To send my mind into a frenzy!

    I'd like to dedicate this poem to my wonderful girlfriend [who's in my favorites if you want to check her out. her poems are way better than mine]. She really did send my heart racing in HE II class. She would torment me by flirting with that stupid guy, but all I had to do was ask her out once and she was hooked! We've been together for a little over a year now. Thanks K! You're awesome.
