Familiar sentiment

by Keath   Apr 3, 2008

I forgot the label today
The prize to mark my shoulder
A ham in the land
Of faces unknown
Where each day grows bolder

I didn't need your word today
To stumble on my use
The ignorance of life
Grows in twines
Of people who excused refuse

I forgot the mail today
But knew there would be none
The crowd trailed its track
And left judgment
To those who were gone

I surrendered to you today
To compose my own decisions
Despair doesn't fade in death
But toddles on
In silent hopes and visions
