Midnight Poem

by Morgana   Apr 3, 2008

Moonlight
Tears silently falling
as my trembling hand writes
about longing and loneliness
and that is just what my heart does.
Cause it seems as if my muse
has left me tonight.
I can't write about her beauty
nor about the pain.
I'm feeling more alone now
than I have done for long.

Needing, wanting someone.
Someone to hold me and kiss me.

But tonight I'm alone with the stars
the moon smiles at me
she is nearly full
her light caressing my skin
as a shadowy lover.
I close my eyes tightly,
but you are dancing in my head.
And I can't stop my poor heart from longing
for what I do not have.

In this night loneliness rules
under the shining moon.
