A Twisted Love

by Joyce   Apr 4, 2008

So I had to make up my own poem in English Class using another poem's rhythm and rhyming scheme. Here's credit to "A Poison Tree" by William Blake.
_____________________________

I was in love with my friend:
I told my love, my love did end.
Then I fell in forbidden love,
And I would not unlove my love.

So I masked it with smiles,
Under a crafted guile.
But my love festered desire,
Whose ardor was a bonfire.

And I starved it in great fear,
That my love be found out clear.
Still it grew by bound and leap,
My un-permitted love did reap.

My love was so accurst I burst,
I killed my crooked lover first.
As one we sleep, I and my love,
For I will not unlove my love.

Yes, I did the "I and my love," on purpose as to make it rhyme with the last line :). Tell me what you think of this poem.
