Fine But Broken

by Cainer   Apr 4, 2008

Shards of glass cut into my heart
Coarse edges steal my breath
Broken and frozen over many of my years
I find not the will to mend my trembling fears

Edges seem to be balanced and fine
But deep within are jagged broken pieces
Heart collapsed upon ash and glass
The fine shards outline what used to be soul and mind

There is no way to put the pieces back together
Once broken all is lost. Lost to time forever
The plastered scared reflection i have showed to the outside world
Has over the years lost its glue and the deep imperfections have been piercing through

Losing the battle to hold myself together
Every crack is open to the shards of my faults
Open for all to see
The jagged corrupted pieces that have masked me
