Anthem

by Alvin Laberinto eNigmaa   Apr 6, 2008

This picture right here, was something I don't ever want to see,
But also this picture brings the life and colour in me,
I can't imagine taking it, but it's something I don't want to forget,
The last time we ever talked, it's a time I won't regret.

I should have stopped the crying cause my eyes have turned all red,
You always told me to look up, and be a man instead,
But I couldn't, since you've been gone, I've been left alone,
I've tried to tell myself in a moment you would come home.

But it's not like that anymore, it's a different story now,
While I'm still here on earth, you be there lying in the clouds,
I try to envision a happy place, a paradise up in the skies;
Before you left you told me, and I believed what you advised.

Something like not getting into trouble, always being a good kid,
I always followed what you said, and had obeyed what you had bid.
Amid these trying times, I always wonder what it's like,
What heaven's like up there, and if you can hear me on the Mic.

I know that you can hear me, you're in the greatest audience of all,
You're not alone this night, cause I'm standing beside you tall.
Yet this night hasn't happened yet, I promise that I will come,
Living with you there in happiness, and singing a greater anthem.
