Blind Escape

by RadianceInReverse   Apr 7, 2008

I'm flying with a broken wing
falling slowly to the hardened soil
no breeze to keep me floating, gently
all of nature is forcing me to the ground
plucking out the very energy that keeps me going

I'm walking with a twisted leg
crawling to my indefinite end
no shoulder for me to lean on, strength
everyone pushing me farther into the earth
kicking at the very wound that holds me down

I'm searching aimlessly in the dark
grasping for anything that will lead me out
no light to guide me to an exit, safety
all stars have dwindled to a deep nothing
locking my fears into a present meant to hurt

Help me find my way home
help me replace the empty place inside me
Help erase the memories that haunt my soul
take my hand and guide me through the door of forgiveness
