I need you more than my own life

I stop and listen - was that far off cry you calling or was it from a bird?
Was that rumbling from the distant mountains you crying out my name?
Since you smilingly left this morning you grace another room than mine
Darling, nothing around my home is ever the same without your beauty.

As I wander through the forest I see falling leaves tumbling in the air
Branches of trees standing bare and other growth looking so barren
I feel if you were here with me those very floras would blossom again
Nature would awaken and be so content to share her awesome self with you.

Over ancient years long gone people have lived and loved through changing times
Yet without you there is no reason or rhyme to feel the joy each new day will bring
The truth is, since we have been together a newness of passion and love has grown
To live without you would be like asking the sun to stop shining from the heaven above

As I walk along the forest trail my mind wanders to the many times I have lived alone
There was no 'you' no beautiful African orchid to proudly greet me and keep me company
Only days and nights of loneliness to be my champions - they both failed to capture me
Then that day when I felt the angels gently call out to me, you appeared and I cried.

My tears were not tears of anger; indeed, they were tears of joy raining down my face
Everywhere I looked a magical newness came emerging out of the dark, misty gloom
The trees began sprouting new growth and flowers including you my orchid had appeared again
You see my love, without you my own life has no meaning, for you are love its very self.
