Thoughts during your illness

by Orchid Man   Nov 20, 2008

I used to think we were infallible; that time would leave us alone
Yet today that old Father Time has caught up with us and is laughing again
Where we were healthy and took all things for granted, now we are more cautious
My Orchid Lady we both know you are unwell and struggling through each day.

If God or his son Jesus would only give me their power or grant me a wish
I would ask them to give me the skill to heal you and make your smiles reappear
To see those smiles upon your face would bring me untold happiness -
- as right now I battle with my own feelings brought about by your suffering.

Each morning the sun continues to rise and the moon still shines so brightly
Flowers smile at us and display their finery in ignorance of our wants and feelings
Winds obliviously go about their business of wandering across seas and countries
All these things are wonderful but they will never stop me worrying about you.

A sun can warm you as a moon can shine its beams upon your body -
- flowers can make you happy and winds still cool you on a hot summer's day
But, what they can't do is restore you to good health or bring you painless moments
My orchid lady I pray for a miracle to bring your uniqueness and health back to life.

You don't require youth to remain well or free from the discomfort of illness
In our senior years life has still so much to offer us giving both of us much to look forward to
If prayers heal like so many Church authorities continue to tell everyone then I shall pray
Remember you are not battling alone because I am beside you also battling for your recovery.

You can beat this illness
