The Dungeon

by kimberly dennis   Apr 12, 2008

A lonesome dark chasm
filled with thoughts and ideas
mind boggling information
the research of years.

The dungeon of genius
with its innocence scarred
is used for foul purposes
bloodshed of war
famine never solved
much to children's disdain
with little of our help
there dungeon is chained.

Poverty is world wide
its spread never stops
and our genius can't slow it
nor even change its plot

millions of people
have died by Einstein's hand
On Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Genius left its brand
and what of the children
our labs have killed
what is with the world
have we all went blind
or are we trapped in the dungeon
of a geniuses mind the dungeon is dark,
damp and cold left behind for all
of us to know.
