How He Left Me

I sit here in blood
Dark and my own
And now I will tell you a story
Why I am lost and alone

I hid in a corner
Watching mom and dad fight
This time daddy didnt go out
While mommy drinks all night

Then the harsh words burn
As much as the hand
As mommy screams
Daddy raises his hand

I cowered in the corner
In the safety of night
As mommy makes her last plea
Daddy finishes the fight

He walks out the door
Never to be seen again
They took me away
Gave me to a friend

I remember her screams
I remember the fight
I remember my fear
And how it cost her, her life

So now I sit here in blood
And you wonder why
Truth is he left me here
With just my memories to die
