Sailing on Memories

by Molly May   Apr 13, 2008

Remember when we could laugh
As loud as we could possibly be?

Eyes a cryin
Tummies a achin
Rollin on the floor

Jokes about nothing
Nothing but jokes
Smiles a daily attire

Remember when we could dream
Dream to our heart's content?
Stars wearing shoes
Fish drinking boos
A whole little world of
Our own

Everything was twisted
Reshaped
Brand new

Only we could understand
What we had done
The stories we created
The memories gone untold

Remember when we could love
No strings attached?

Naked hearts
Naked minds
As naked as we could possibly be

The world was invisible
Only each other could we see

Soft curves
Jittery nerves
Forward motions with
Backward tongues

Words are always hard to find
But give it time

They will come with the
Shining sun
Give us time

We will shine with the
Rising sun

Memories flood
Splishing and splashing
Washing today away

Board your boat
Set your sails

It's time to glide to sea
