She never knew,
That this would hurt so much.
That she'd be drowning in her own tears.
Reaching for a breath just to survive.

She never knew,
That her heart would break this way.
Always hoping that he'd be the one
To change her and to say everything was okay.

She never knew,
That all her dreams
Would soon fall apart.
And all because he wasn't in them anymore.

She never knew,
How to say it.
That one thing that makes you believe
That there's no one else in the world for you.
Those three words that mean so much
But seem so little.
