No Different Than Before

So many times,
In the past,
Have people come
Then left so fast.

Forgotten again,
In the rush of the day.
Not that they care,
They think I'll be okay.

I know I didn't matter,
They made it pretty clear.
But you told me different,
Told me I had nothing to fear.

You promised to come
And hold me when I cried,
But now my tears fall freely,
You're not here, I guess you lied.

I thought this time was different,
That I actually meant more.
But I guess it's not like that
I guess it's no different than before.
