Divorce

by Steve   Apr 15, 2008

A long succession of battles
Not a war, as no-one wins
Fighting clashes one by one
Inflicted wounds do fester

Mind grows weary, battle fatigue
Fight bleeds from your core
Spirit becomes expressionless
Surrendered, do what you will

The upper hand abuses its place
Fed by the parasites of hurt
Surrender wars that cannot be won
As no calm can soothe the aggressor

Divorce is not war, only a battle
Life is long whilst battles are short
We all go on, begin to begin again
No win, just peace - sweet peace
