A walk with you

by Orchid Man   Apr 16, 2008

Swirls of mist are rolling over the river like a clinging blanket
No river life are playing on its surface and all sound has been stilled
Above, the early morning sun sends down its warmth to heat the countryside
The sound of a lone bird calling its mate breaks the eerie and cold silence.

As we walk together I take your hand in mine and feel your heart beating
A beam of sunshine rests on your golden hair and seems to light up the walkway
I look at your face lit up in the scant sunlight and realise why I love you so much.......
you were crafted by a sculptor whose artistry brought you through a perfect womb.

My thoughts travel back to the day we met; a day when you helped me come alive
We met by accident but when our eyes met each other new life flowed through my veins
You spoke and your voice touched my ears like a soft silken whisper and you held me spellbound
It was at that moment my Orchid Lady made her entrance into my waiting arms and to our futures.

In those days of our new found innocence your green eyes looked at me across a wooden bridge
From which a small winding road brought me to your side; into arms that held me in loving rapture
Beautiful as you were then my love, today your womanly richness holds me in its spell of awe
Should I search for a treasure more precious than my fair orchid - none would ever be located.

You have always stood by my side helping me through times when hardship reared its ugly head
Guiding me without complaint; always urging me on; your loving voice inspiring me to better things
As we walk together this morning I place my arm around your waist and hold you close to my side
Darling, my admiration for you will grow stronger as future days pass and enter into our private dreams.

Orchid Lady, without you to enrich my life there is nothing left - only an alibi.
