Save Me

~ Save Me ~
By Nicole Pirri

Everyone is gone.
The city is all dead.
Wind moving freely,
Whispering words in my head.

Don't know what to think.
Nowhere to go.
Wandering all around,
Time moving ever so slow.

Wanting to scream,
Scream words of pain.
To let my fear loose -
For someone else to gain.

Time slowly passing.
Days or nights unknown.
Sanity and memory,
Wind has not yet blown.

Feet riddled with blisters.
Feet which have walked endless miles.
Never have they hurt so much,
In my life-long trial.

~

Years must have passed,
And my skin faded severely.
But before I take my final step,
Won't someone please save me?

I totally loved this poem. I was a hitch hiker for years and could relate with poem intensely. Your poem painted an imaginary but real picture in my head with scenery of my own long walks just like this.
