Fear versus want

by Marina   Apr 17, 2008

The word you whisper it in my ear.
with open arms you take my heart in
from a life long lived in fear.
my soul formed by that hate they brought upon me

I look from side to side.
see a city street filled with tears
people frozen in place
their fears unwinding

i feel it beneath my feet
a river of distress spills over
from the words of each person frozen in place.
they didn't see it coming till my scars melt their complexion

your arms so strong and mine
created a barrier for only so long
they will, don't leave me with nothing but
empty promises.
