Miss Sorrow

by Selfrejected   Apr 19, 2008

I know you've become inert
But I swear I wasn't the one to make you hurt
I know you've been borrowing in the sand
Miss Sorrow

A song for the memory
A song for the disdain
But please remember that there is level ground
To walk on, through all this fog
We can take away the machine any day
If only you promise you'll see the sun shining
Right in front of you

You don't believe everything you see
And believe everything you hear
Quite a contradiction
So, we can talk to you all night
About how good you're doing
If you'll only dig out the non-sense
Plugging your ears

So, where did you plan on going?
Running out the door into the yard
With that sad look on your face
I sincerely hope you can jump that fence
It may be a bit high
Just take off on both feet
And we'll see you on the other side

I know you've become inert
But I swear I wasn't the one to make you hurt
I know you've been borrowing in the sand
Miss Sorrow
But just follow that drumbeat
Playing in your chest
Playing... in your chest
