Healing Scars

When I sit here
All upset
I can sense that
You care
But you could leave me
At any time

You could
Throw my heart
Against a wall
And have it shatter

I still have some scars
They are healing
More and more
Each day
When I'm loving you

When I see you
Or when I'm simply
With you
My scars heal
Little by little

There's no way
I can make them
heal faster

It gets easier
For them to heal
Each day

It's been more than
Six months
And yet they have not healed
Fully
But they have healed a lot
Since I first met you
My scars don't hurt
As much anymore

You helped heal
The wounds
I thought
Would never go away
