Take a Picture

by toby cunningham   Apr 20, 2008

You wake up in the morning
Sunrise in your eye
Another long summer day dawning
I'm glad to welcome its surprises
We can just sit & watch
As the time passes by

The morning grass dew starts to dry
Glistening as it catches your eye
Taking a picture you capture this moment in time
Who knew it would be so easy to see
Everything in harmony
Creating a multi-colour symphony

Blue skies shining down on us
But don't take it for granted 'cause
The sun can always choose to go and hide
We've got to take advantage of this glorious day
Before the clouds and night-time sky
Go and take it away

So grab a couple of friends and a football
To start a game for one and all
With people joining in from all around
As the sunlight begins to fade
We are all cast into the shade
The twilight night-time brings an end to our game

Lying in the park
As it goes dark
The stars and sky monochrome
We don't have to be hasty
Just be lazy
No need to rush on home

The moon and stars come out to play
As you bask in their twilight glow
Resting your head at the end of the day
Lie back and let the night-time flow
Summertime is here so take advantage
And please don't let it go
