Inside the Emptiness

by toby cunningham   Apr 20, 2008

I'm finding so much space,
Everything falling into place.
I'm finding so much (all this) time,
But I'm losing all I find.

Another failed attempt at fame,
Successful to the insane,
All of the forgotten youth
Defecting from the truth.

Nothing as it seems, everything is blank,
Slaves to the scene, we have no-one to thank.
Finding ourselves, in a sea of distress,
This is what we get, for looking inside the emptiness.

We try to even the score,
We keep coming back for more.
And in this human rat race,
We must take a leap of faith.

Every now and then,
We go through it all again,
Oblivious to their needs,
They bite the hand that feeds.

What we see is what we get,
There is no time for regret,
Open your eyes and you will see,
What will help to set us free.
Inside in then inside out,
Some things are better said aloud.

Nothing as it seems, everything is blank,
Slaves to the scene, we have no-one to thank.
Finding ourselves, in a sea of distress,
This is what we get, for looking inside the emptiness.
