Depression

by Sarah Burns   May 25, 2004

What is Depression?
What does it do?
It is when you are at your lowest
And you feel no one is there for you

It is an emotional breakdown
That only you can feel
It is like an open wound
That will not heal

You cry so much
That it even hurts to cry
You get so tired from crying
That you just want to die

You feel trapped
With no way out
You feel the emotion build up
That you just want to shout

You hide your depression from the world
If only they could know
But you keep it hidden
Without letting it show

You know you need help
But you are afraid to ask
You just want it to go away
And put it in your past

It feels so cold
it feels so dark
It feels like it will never end
But where did it even start?

Is it your family?
Is it your friends?
Is it your school?
When will it end?

You are always down
And you always cry
You are at your lowest of lows
And you do not know why

It will not always be here to stay
This is my confession
It is not the end
Just a phase called DEPRESSION!
