You Were The One But Not Anymore

by Whitney   Apr 21, 2008

In the beginning we were so tight,
And I started to think we were just right.
We talked on the phone and on the computer,
We would go outside and ride your scooter.
We would joke, laugh, and hang out,
The feelings we had for each other spread and got loud.
Next thing I knew the whole school knew we liked each other,
They would all say "aw, you two look cute together."
As soon as I started to get real comfortable with you,
It's what I didn't think would happen came true.
Behind my back you went running back to your ex-girlfriend,
I got a phone call that you had her all over your my-space from my best friend.
You lied to me right in my face,
I thought my heart was in the right place.
You promised you wouldn't break my heart,
Now it's like everything is shattered apart.
You should have told me that you still loved her,
Now I just wish all those memories I had with you would just go to a blur.
I cant believe you hurt me the way you did,
I can't get over that you broke what you said.
I really had feelings for you,
It's your fault that you couldn't stay true,
You dissed me,
Now I'm free.
I got a boyfriend who cares,
And wouldn't be like you even if you dared.
I know now that you feel bad,
At the fact that you made me sad.
Yes, I really did cry,
But look at me, I survived.

I hope you learned.
