Heartbreaker

by Unrequited   Apr 23, 2008

A glimpse in the fiery eyes of the heartbreaker!
shattered mess and crimson loss.
we owe the other a truth we conceal,
and swallow up the lies that bury them.

concern is masked with scraping hunger,
and ice will shield those unable
to return the love song
that lingers in their throats.

dare to
be drawn
from the night
that wishes us
good light
within
our souls!
they lie in
deep-shaded plots
of discolored angels
in their twilight.

a kiss is never destined to be tangled
in the web of guided fate.
as lips collide, sunsets fade into
a flowing sea of ending judgment.

who is worthy of
an earthquake that crumbles
our hearts into an ashy dust?
the heartbreaker knows his targets
before they are warned,
thus a dance of danger ensues.
those feeding on deception continue to roam the land,
searching for hearts willing to die for the love of another.
good light, wished upon us by rainy nights,
shall never filter through his murky eyes.

an afterlife
in clouds
will protect the
unrequited spirits
from dealing
their heart to
the devil
one last time...

that last haunting kiss
shall only exist in a dream.
