Dark angel, hidden in cosmetic lies

by shadowknight   Apr 27, 2008

As she saw that emotionless face,
lost in the windows of fate,
scared of living,
yet afraid to die,
that confused girl,
whose dreams have fallen,
like tears on her cheek.

She stares into her reflection,
of the deep blue pond,
as she trails her ringed finger,
through the stainless water,
thinking of that silly little word,
Perfection.

She looks into her eyes,
covered in the blackened eyeliner of life,
with the masacra that runs with her tears,
she knows she is trying to hide,
in a mask of cosmetic lies.

With the warmth of a frozen heart,
she pitys the world she once belonged,
knowing of the violence behind every bruise,
knowing of the sadness behind every tear,
forgetting the happiness behind every smile.

Her hands glide towards her back,
Where her white wings sit with pride,
too bad, the angel cant fly,
the sins of the past weighing her down,
the promise of the future,
falling with each useless feather.

Her golden halo drops,
clattering to the floor,
her soft white glow fading into darkness,
she years of sadness caving in,
knowing she is not worth it.

The small angel shrivils into dust,
lost in the world of light,
where she sits alone as darkness,
her night begins to rise,
the moon just a small shimmer in her eyes.
