I'd Miss It Too Much

by Dacey Flame   Apr 27, 2008

I opened my eyes so carelessly.

Unprepared, unsuspecting of what I found.

Your flawless face, your curved, wide nose

Pressed to mine, and your crooked, toothy grin.

I can only think it'll soon be cleared to standard.

But I'll miss it. I once scoffed at it's oddness.

But it's a beautiful smile.

I'd run a marathon for it's praise.

I'd swim an ocean to receive it's grace.

I'd climb a mountain for four seconds of the feeling

I get when I've done something smile worthy.

My own mouth itches to tell you of it's perfection.

But it runs risk of your nervousness, you'll falter.

You'll frown.

Maybe you'll be cautious, my words taken badly.

Can't have that, I'd miss it too much.

So I smile back at you, and

Close my eyes again.
