Curtain of shadows

by Fredy   Apr 28, 2008

A curtain of shadows surrounds me,
this is not how is supposed to be...
the cold whistling wind sends a shiver down my spine,
i see thousands of graves with one name: mine!

the clouds begin to roll out and leave and empty sky.
crows rise from the ground and start to fly,
i feel something crawling on my feet,
i tried to jump out but i can't, I'm stuck on my seat,
i see the maggots come and bite my flesh,
the wounds open up, bleed and look fresh!

with chains and locks they keep me sitting,
i keep spitting...
curses and prayers at the same time...
i must b paying for committing some crime;
because the devil himself is watching the show.
and on his shoulder there's a black crow,
who flies towards me,
takes out my eyes and i can't see.
i shout out with all my might,
oh how i wish i could die...

and then i hear horrendous cries,
i see a body with no eyes;
everything is dark around,
i can see he's not on the ground,
he's floating on thin air,
and his face shows a note of despair,
yet his body is kept still,
i try no to move but is a greater force against my will.
i know now i can't escape,
so i'll just leave things up to fate.

this is a hellish place,
but i have embraced...
the fact that i can't get out,
and as i wander about,
i come at grips with my worst fear,
i know the ending is near....
and through my heart runs and even more hurtful knife:
i wake up to my life!

This is nicely penned piece, like the rhymes and how your work is just good. I could imagine the picture as i read through the poem, it sounded like a horrible movie that kept getting worse and worse. Good work keep up 5/5
