Hidden in a smile

by ted Wallace   Apr 30, 2008

I was unpretentiously conceived before the unvited spell.
Obsessed by one, while loved by another. Draped in darkest silk in a crisp mountainous air.
My lips vaguely anticipated your never ending stare. Bronzed pearls left motionless in ceaseless time. You loved me too closely, with your last earthly sigh. Your heirs divorced me for a king's royal stand. Possession and craving coveted my soul. Thieves with cunning vanquished me in the night. Broke my spirit and hide me out of sight. Pursuit never ending, restored by gold.
My back is eternally nailed against the wall.
Ageless beauty lives between the cracks and lines.
But, this was never my purpose , nor my family line.
My loved ones have left me time past long ago.
Yet I smile, with no self control. On command I say, turn my face to a lifeless wall. Blink a sudden hush, from all these selfish eyes. For only Leonardo bristled my smile sublime.
