So Close To Closing

by MiRAy3   Apr 30, 2008

So close to closing, when a stranger stopped by. he
said he was hungry, and I suggested the fries. but I
cant pay you miss, I have no money. I made plenty of
tips today, don't sweat it honey. there must be some
way I can pay back my debt. no sweety, its my
pleasure, don't you even fret. he finished the fries
as she put a Sandwich on his plate. but if I stay for
this, wont you close late? I believe so, but my
conscience will be clear. and you will have a hot
meal, before you sleep, my dear. such a lovely person
you are. god truly made you different. then he topped,
and rested eyes on her pendant. who is that man
there, the one in the photo? that is the man I love,
but he will never know. see he was a soldier, and he
died in Iraq. I'll never forget the day I learned he
wasn't coming back. I didn't tell him before he left,
he needed no distractions. but now I feel, if I would
have, this might not have happened. maybe he would
have fought harder, and struggled more to survive.
but its too late to turn back now, they have already
taken his life.
