One Sided Affair

by Amanda Sloan   Apr 30, 2008

I couldnt stop myself from falling for you
A stone crushed me and I awoke covered in you
Yet I fell in love alone
Standing in my tallest shoes I still crumbled for you
Yet not the strongest wind could knock you down
Always hiding yet always around
It never took sight nor touch to hold you
This young taste of love took years to sour
Even then I was enthralled by my addiction
Not even the sweet smell of spring could release the grasp you've had on me
I weathered the darkest ages of my life while loving you
Sense hurled wisdom at me but silence was all my ears received
Nevertheless time would summon denial and crack me
Pieces would chip away slowly until the new figure could be unvieled
Long awaited formation would eventually be achieved
With much hardship and understanding of why you had to break me
It will be worth the years of sting when the evidence of new life appears
