Penalty is Death

by RavishingEruption   May 1, 2008

I was caught up in a whirlwind
You made me feel all right
Boy, you were a Godsend
You loved me with all your might

But then I ruined it
As I often do
The fuse was lit
I had lied to you

I've turned into
What I fear the most
I've killed you
Our love a roaming ghost

There is no way
To fix what I have done
I must leave today
I'm now on the run

The penalty is death
Now that I've been caught
I'll give you my last breath
Its for you I fought

Hmmm. Some mixed messages in there. I get the general idea, although, I'm not quite sure if you're running from the guilt, or if you're simply taking the regrets of your habits, and filing them away as another painful "notch" in your belt. All in all, well put together, none the less. I like this.
