Set Me Free

by Crystal   May 1, 2008

In all the world and beyond the stars
I could never find a boy with a golden heart
Searching, Searching, but never to see
You were headed my way, to set me free.

Like a knight with no armor and a broken sword
You came to this land, but not on a horse
Eyes shaded blue and hair so brown
A smile to cast away, all the darkness in town

It didn't hit me until one day I saw
Your eyes like the sea
As beautiful as could be
From that day you've had all of me

But so did the Dragon, with all his ease
Wouldn't let go as he snarled with glee
Of all the material things, He had me on a chain
Yet you gave me strength, and we ran away

At the time I couldn't see
What made you worth the fight to be free
Laying with you now it's hard to deny
How much I love you under this starry sky.
