Stopping the Storm

I'm so tired
of feeling so numb
I want to feel you there,
I want to feel like a pair.

I just keep giving,
but I get nothing back.
I know you care about me.
But all that i want is to see.

I want to see proof,
that you aren't lying,
that you feel the way you say you do.
How can I tell if it's really true?

Everything we built up
is falling to pieces around us.
I've become so lost.
I feel like we're tempest-tossed.

But I can't phase the storm,
I can't stop it from coming.
All I know is that we
are being the best we can be
