The Truth

by xLeftxBehindx   May 5, 2008

One girl, one guy with neighborhood friends
All hang out till the day ends
Warm summer days with fun in the pool
Late night hang outs with the weather so cool

Their relationship grew as they did too
The summer's end drew
School started, still all hung out after
All fun ended in laughter

Now mostly the guy and girl hung alone
Theirs friendship was strongly shown
Still to young to understand the romance
The guy's heart raced at every glance

She only thought of him as a friend nothing more
She was so oblivious to his adore
He backed off and they stayed the same
Slowly they didn't see each other as much, no one was to blame

Years later, still the same school as each other
One day after another
Now she grew to like him more than just a friend
But this is not like a fairytale end

He has his friends, she has hers
Every time she saw him her heart beat stirs
They are friends but not like before
Every night her imagination would soar

This is all true
He was single this was her que
But no, he was already liked by too many
Her odds were one to plenty

She has his classes and always steals more than one glance
Her eyes wander as her heart is at dance
Hope was her key
Like said, this is all true because she, is me

Aw this is so relatable. Nice work. Flowed well and the rhyme scheme wasn’t too forced. Really enjoyed the read. Keep it up. 5/5
