Stuck staying the same

and my heart soared high;
you said you'd never leave,
but i guess it was a lie.

you're moving on so quickly,
but im stuck the same.
i want you to come back,
but im tired of your little game.

you tease and flirt,
harmless you say.
but you don't see how
a part of me dies each day.

another girl takes my place,
and my dreams begin to shatter.
it's not hard for me to realize,
i never really mattered.

people see it all take place,
"what happened?" they ask.
i just shrug and kinda smile,
my emotions hidden behind a mask.

you say you want to talk,
my friends think you still care.
to put that hope back in my heart,
it's almost to much to bear.
