It's Quiet Now

by Skadi   May 6, 2008

After you have gone.
It's quiet.

The birds still chirp.
The light still shines.
The house still stands.
And yet...

It's quiet.

You have gone.
Permanently from my life.

I don't understand.
I never did.

They found you in a closet.
Swinging back and forth.
She screamed, you know.
Loud and glass-shattering.

I don't understand.
I never did.

They came and took you away.
I didn't want you to go.

I didn't need to understand I guess.
Because the birds still chirp.
The light still shines.
It's still quiet.

I still hurt.
