It's what you do to me

by Luke Hicks   May 9, 2008

During your life, every once in a while
You meet special people that make your heart smile

Recently I met a person such as this
The time I spend with her fills me with bliss

She asks for so little but gives so much, delicate and caring in her way
Rose coloured glasses she thinks, not even close, no way

With her delicate touch she brought down walls of steel
Walls that didn't allow me to live, and didn't allow me to feel

As I let go of all those walls and all my fears
I can't help but smile and shed a few tears

As I write this, thinking of that first embrace
A single sweet tear runs down my face

She has given me the best gift anyone can
She inspires me to be a better man

I now have a debt I can never repay
She thinks she didn't do anything, that's just her way

In her I have found a precious friend
The times and special moments we share, I hope will never end

The distance between the times in our lives is so far
But part of me will love you forever, no matter where we are

This would have to be one of the most sentimental poems ive read. It's so honest and beautiful.

-With her delicate touch she brought down walls of steel
Walls that didn't allow me to live, and didn't allow me to feel-

I love these lines because I hope one day I meet someone that will love me for who i am and that I will be able to let into my heart and trust them.

    Beautiful work! 5/5
