Brother.

by Neme juste un jouet   May 9, 2008

Let my wings be broken...
I will smile on,
the victim under your hand...
Compress my freedom into a box,
nothing can confine a soul that is not attached.
No matter.
No regrets...
You see, if I never fly again
I will never look down on you again.
I will never fear the fall,
nor the truth escaping its trap.
Break them ruthlessly,
while I smile an angels smile,
and tempt you to wipe this insanity away.
Please.
I am afraid all that liberty went straight to my head.
Break my wings,
bring me to your level.
And tell me I am nothing again.
Do it brother,
one more time.
And I will show you a wicked smile.
I will not flinch away,
I know it shocked you when I stood my place.
And I will not bother to scream.
My eyes bare the hate,
all the hate I need.

So confirm my fears and tell me.
I am nothing.
So I can answer again:

"I do not care what I am to you, that I am nothing."

And watch as you sit back in stunned silence.
Because truthfully,
man was not made to fly.
