Will Not Wait Forever

by EclipsesChick   May 9, 2008

I cannot wait forever, and I
know you wish me well, but I
cannot wait forever in this empty
body: a shell.

You fill the void, you break my
heart. Tearful words always tear me
apart. You use me, you demean me,
but I still continue to smile.

You cannot wait forever for me to
change my mind. Despite all you do,
I still love you, and I hope you take that
in kind.

But you cannot wait forever for me to
hate your face. You are just like me
(except I am not free) but I will never
take your place.

I do not think anyone will ever
understand the way we do things,
our timeless dance. We are the same
person, one light one gray. One
completely pure, one not sure of
his ways.

But we cannot wait forever for this
union to make sense. Although we knew
this would eventually come, I think (in
the end) we could no longer pretend.

We cannot wait forever for our problems
to be solved. This is our own fight, our
own internal struggle. We just do not know
the cause.

You use me, you demean me, but I still
continue to smile.

I will not wait forever.
