Envious Eyes

by dante   May 10, 2008

Envious eyes

I stand in the shadows,
Watching your face in that half profile
While you laugh and smile at him,

He doesn't deserve your smile,
Your touch,
He is unworthy of touching such perfection
And yet you bade me be silent,

You heed not my words of concern and of love,
You disregard my passion and let me stand by,
Let me be consumed by envy and hate
And leave me to guard you from the shadows,

A glint of emerald the sign of my gaze,
The sign of my envious eyes
