What Do You Do?

by Michelle Fuller   May 11, 2008

What do you do
when nobody's there?
And the one you thought
Would always care
just walks away
And leaves you dry
With no "talk later"
or even "good-bye".

What do you do?
When you're felt alone.
You sit there and watch
Your heart turn more to stone
When the only one
Who was supposed to stay true
Just decides they don't care
And forgets about you?

What do you do
When people tell you lies
But you have to believe them
Because the look in their eyes
just makes you believe
Everything that they say
But you'll figure out the truth
Like I did today

The people who tell you
They'll be there for life
Always stab you in the back
With the sharpest knife
But don't try to make it better
Or have the slightest doubt
Because the knife cuts you deeper
When you try to pull it out.
