Pretending

One glance, that one second moment in time,
feels like eternity.
I tremble as my heart begins to race;
closing my eyes to dream of those sweet whispers
I long for.

Your smile is as beautiful as a rainbow
after a hurricane.
I sigh in disbelief that this could be anything
but love.

My mind becomes blank as you walk by;
for I would not know what to say
if you acknowledged my presence.

I will continue the dream of us
even if I'm told I shouldn't,
because for all those precious moments
I feel as if I belong.

I love you-
and though I'd never show it,
I'd certainly never deny it.

    Beautiful. Purely beautiful. I really, really liked this line. It was gorgeous. The last stanza, the last line - it brings everything together again. Like sewing up loose ends. Brilliant, beautiful, everything about this is lovely. 5/5
