Dear Mom

by Erica   May 12, 2008

She was born in the winter of 1958
Sweet luminous smile, big blue eyes
Short dark hair, soft and straight
Nothing but sweet belches and cries
She grew up into a responsible young lady
She bared two obnoxious babies
That were both born in the eighties

Hardships she has met
Yet none have been a threat
Through the years we have grown apart
I love the woman dearly
But our relationship has never been a work of art
Days of yells, nights of hell

Shes a fighter that's for sure
Years of pain she had to endure
A car accident nearly took her life
After, she couldn't drive
But she knew how to thrive

This woman has always been my savior
Through dark times and erratic behavior
Words can't express how I feel
Shes an amazing person
That means a great deal
