JUNE 1989 #14

If I could play the songs of life,
I would be your husband, and you my wife!

If I could play a tune, or two,
You would be with me, and I with you!

If I could have you by my side,
I would be so happy, so satisfied!

If I could turn back the hands of time,
I would never have committed such a crime!

If I were your present, And your future too,
At keeping you happy, I would never be through!

If I could Change, the (DAYS GONE BY) ,
Never again, would you need to cry!

If I could just hear you say, I love you!
It would be too good to be true!

If I could spend With you, just one more day,
I would devote my life, a Small price to pay!

If I could be with you , just one more night,
You would know everything , will be alright!

If I could just make you realize,
My love for you wears no disguise!

If you would look at us with open eyes!
But nobody knows, If nobody tries!

I have been reading your words this morning and this poem touched me deeply. I have read it over many times and each time I am reminded of the If's in my life. I think we all must have If's, If only we could have done things differently but would things have been any different. I am adding this to my favorites so that I can read it at will.
