knowing you were taken

i only want what i can't have
you tell me softly
can you help me? hold me
you caress me smoothly
calming my fears, soothes me
move your hands acress me
take my worries from me
you say it's so complex
we never bothered
telling each other
what we were bound to guess
everytime i turn around
i find my heart in pieces on the ground
i should have stayed away
like my mind told me to
i've been trying to hide the pain
it's so difficult to keep pretending
it's getting harder everyday
love can be so cruel

this might not make much sense, i wrote it when i was in high school. never was in a serious relationship during a majority of that period. my choice. also, it was my choice to be with guys that were already taken, i was attracted to that. wanting something i know will never be completely mine.
