i remember you

i remember you - your face, your smile
your heart i held so short awhile
your kiss as soft as summer rain,
the months fly past, but still the pain
comes back to haunt my dreams anew
but yet, i still remember you

you sang to me on a summer night
as we sat near the firelight
we laughed to think we'd be apart
i loved you with all my foolish heart
then you went away, my heart went too...
and yet, i still remember you

i've learned at last - to forgive, forget
time dried my tears, there's no regret
i know i'll love again, and yet....
i still remember you...
